Our most popular product since we opened for business in 2011. Cast by hand from 100% recycled iron by John and Liz in Owego, NY, with a thick, even-heating surface and a long forked handle that stays cool on the cooktop.

  • Made for high performance cooking. Heavy-bottomed and even heating for a real sear. Induction-ready, oven-safe to 800°F, live-fire-friendly.

  • Naturally nonstick. Hand-sanded smooth, and seasoned three times with organic flaxseed oil (Kosher certified), our skillets are primed for use right out of the box.

  • Built to last. No glued-on or screwed-on parts. No synthetic coatings to wear away or leach into your food - just iron and oil. Guaranteed not to warp.

Our Braising Skillet has a wide 12" cook surface to take on anything you might be cooking up. Balanced with generous handles, it moves easily from oven to table. Made by hand from 100% recycled iron, each skillet is cast, sanded smooth and seasoned by John + Liz in our Owego, NY workshop.

The second photo shows the Braising Skillet partnered with its lid, a Grill Pan, sold separately. The Braising Skillet and Grill Pan can be inverted interchangeably, each serving as a tight cover for the other.

Borough Furnace is a family workshop with 15 years of experience hand making artisan cast iron cookware. We are most known for our high level of craftsmanship, and for making the only enameled Dutch oven produced in the US.
